Life coaching is fun!
Life coaching is increasingly recognised as a simple, fast and powerfully effective means of creating change for the better. It's an ideal approach for anyone who's ready to break with past limiting beliefs and behaviour to create a compelling future. Coaching can be applied in every area of your life. Including getting rid of bad habits and adopting good ones.
Life coaching is not advice and I do not give advice. As a coach I work with you to help you derive the answers for what changes to make from within yourself. I do that by asking the right questions and helping you explore your options. You are always in charge. I am a resourceful coach and may offer suggestions or perspectives from many varied wisdom traditions. But it is you, the client that chooses what to do next. You are the only person who can sort out your problems! Life coaching is a great way of building a strong and abiding sense of who you are, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This kind of self knowledge is the core of high self esteem, which in turn is a platform for visionary decision making and powerful action taking. After all, how fulfilled, balanced, rewarding, successful or enjoyable our life will be is determined every day by the behaviours, thoughts and choices we use -- especially when we face opportunities, dilemmas, challenges and decisions, in both our personal and professional lives.
When I work with a new client I like to establish "What are your objectives with the coaching relationship?" Honestly establishing what you want and what is important to you. We then look at "What get's in the way?". We understand "What we can count on you for?", what you bring to the table. Finally we determine how you would like to be different after eight weeks of working together. This framework forms the basis of a powerful relationship.
You dream, you define success, you decide how to make it come true. We co-create a strategy, You are inspired to take action, we team up to get you there. I support, encourage and challenge you along the way. Coaching works because of the unique relationship between the coach and the client. The coach focuses 100% on you, on what you want from life and how to get it. The coach is supportive with being interfering, challenging without being judgmental. Asking for support with life changes is a strength manifested by responsible, proactive and intelligent people, or couples.
Coaching thrives on honesty, openness and a willingness to accept the challenge to change. It's about empowering you to come up with your own answers rather than giving you advice. The coach uses penetrating questioning to elicit in you new ways of thinking, which means new answers, learning and action -- closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be. In most cases there are no-quick fixes to our lives, many Life Coaching challenges and assignments will require a long term commitment on your part.
